Our 3:1 heat shrink tubing is a "dual-wall" construction. It is actually made up of two different materials, the outer wall is Polyolefin heat shrink and the second wall is a hot melt adhesive. When heated the inner glue layer begins to flow and the outer shrinks allowing the inner layer to form an adhesion between the tubing and the wire providing a water-tight seal, protecting the connection and wire. This is also know as adhesive lined heat shrink tubing.
